Roy,

We use the Cobalt CMUExport utility to back up our customers' cobalts.
Just install this patch:
http://www.cobalt.com/products/raq/migration.html
Then follow the instructions at: http://www.dnid.de/cobalt/raqbackup/
We have it transfer the files within our Network but you could
probably also either do it outside your network using SSH, or just
have it create the CMU files on the server and then you could download
them manually.

It works.

Because it creates 3 files per site, it's easy to fix one customer's
site also (as opposed to having one large tar file for all the sites
on a server).
