And assuming they don't read postings on here! :-)

Actually there sort of is a way around having an external burner but there
are a few IFs associated with it.
IF you have a dual BIOS mainboard & IF it uses the same EEPROM & IF you had
the binary file it should in theory be possible to disable the checking and
reload it that way.
Dunno if this is useful - and I'm not taking responsibility for any
"effects" caused. But I have rescued a couple of PC mainboards this way over
the years.
