Yes I know all about the problems of leaving this wide open to the net,
that's why all the sites on this particular box are access listed and only
only our network block is allowed in. The sites I want to do this with are
only accessable within our network.  We have no interest in helping out the
warez community.

You would?  Please tell us for which sites you've done this so we can
tell our friends there's a new place they can use for their warez and
mp3 files.

In other words you really don't want to do this; if you do your box will
be found and used by others to store and forward files you'd rather they
don't.

This is what Microsoft's IIS ftp server does by default, and it's why
you hear so much about Microsoft Anonymous ftp being so unsafe.

You should never allow read access from ftp/upload.  Not unless you want
to see your traffic off the charts and your server being blocked.
