Yes. I've been installing it from source since PHP3.0.8 or so and as
recently as the current stable version (4.0.6). 20 minutes searching the
archives and reading relevant posts from the last 6 months and you should
have enough instructions, tips and advice to get it running. Be sure to
read the PHP documentation and ./configure --help options so you can
configure with the options you want (and install any prerequisite libraries)
so you don't have to do it again a few weeks down the road.
