I suspect that admin is a member of > 32 groups where 32 is the current
limit in the kernel. The result is admin cannot login via FTP. Search the
archives and you should find dozens of relevant posts. Quick solution is to
SSH into the server and edit /etc/group and remove admin from enough groups
so that admin is a member of 32 or less. Further details can be found by
searching the archives. Mix and match 2 or more of the following and you
should get what you're looking for. admin, admin2, limit, ftp, problem,
login.
