But if Sun believes the Cobalt Mystique(you don't have to know anything
about unix to operate a web hosting business), then they will continue
marketing the boxes to folks who really don't know anything.
Seems to me that as long as there is a potential customer base that
doesn't require many of the things mentioned on this list, Sun can
keep on selling boxes.
Taking it one step further, if there are significant numbers of unknowing
potential customers, what motivation woold Sun have to introduce any new
cobalts, other than have a new model with increased prices.
Getting down to the issue that might affect significant numbers of folks
on this list:
Is it realistic for us to expect much from Sun in terms of support?
My take is that Sun will do the absolute minimum to keep the natives
happy...and ignore many of the glaring problems...after all, there are
lots of folks who will buy a washing machine.
