[cobalt-users] tunnel admin traffic with SSH on RAQ3

I recently installed SSH on my RAQ3 and it works fine for shell connections. I'm using Penguinet as a client.

The problem I'm having is trying to tunnel the admin traffic. I have tried following the instructions both on the Cobalt KB and this user group, and I can't seem to figure it out. (most info on tunneling that you find elsewhere on the web relates to POP e-mail)

The Penguinet client does allow for configuring port forwarding, which is helpful.

When going to that screen on the client, it gives the options "Ports forwarded from this computer" and "ports forward from remote computer." I presume I'm forwarding a port FROM my local computer to the remote Cobalt, so I choose the first option. I enter the "from" port as 8081, the "to" port as 81 and the host as the IP number of my Cobalt. I then enter the following URL in my browser:

http://localhost:8081/.cobalt/sysManage/

Nothing happens. I then try a variety of permutations on the above, sitll nothing happens. (The browser doesn't seem to like "localhost" as the host name in the browser, so that may be part of the problem. But that URL is the same URL I see in every set of instructions I've found)

If anyone can sort this out for me, I'd greatly appreciate it. (My local computer is a Windows PC, not a UNIX PC)

Thanks,

Diana
