All I did was attempt a rebuild using something along the lines of

  makemap hash /etc/virtusertable < /etc/virtusertable

(make backup copies of virtusertable and virtusertable.db) check the man
file for makemap

this failed with an error about duplicate entries and the line numbers of
the duplicates. You can edit the virtusertable and then rebuild using the
above command but as I am not a sendmail expert I used webmin's address
mapping option to make it clearer which entries were duplicated and deleted
them. Webmin then rebuilds the table and everything worked fine.

One word of warning, I do not know what effect editing the virtusertable has
on the way the RAQ's GUI handles email aliases, I have added more sites and
users since this and it does seem ok but I cannot guarantee it. Perhaps
someone else can advise.

I am sorry that I cannot do an exact step by step but I did not make any
notes at the time.

Out of curiosity what changes have you made recently, Patches/Neomail/Site
changes etc. As it seems odd that we both have the same unusual problem in
the same week.
