[cobalt-users] RaQ4i Email Catch All Problem

I found many posts on this issue in the archives and with a google search but have yet to solve the problem with my server.

I've just moved to a RaQ4i from a 3 and outside of Cobalt totally messing up the way you add host emails (was a simple checkbox "accept mail for domain) I'm happy with the box....

That is... Except for this problem I've been chasing for two days.

If I set up a site and add the @www.somedomain.com as the wildcard email.. it bounces with the error message.

Diagnostic-Code: SMTP; 554 5.0.0 rewrite: excessive recursion (max 50), ruleset canonify

I've seen a number of ways to get around this but all seemed to be aimed at those running thier own nameserver. I'm using my host's NS services.

In the email server alias field have somedomain.com,www.somedomain.com If I remove the www.somedomain.com, even email to the user account bounces (not just the anybody@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx)

I've tried all the different combinations of just about all the posts I've read and all I've managed to do is nothing.

Does anyone have any ideas for those of us not running our own NS?

I saw several posts that seemed to think this problem centered around a cname record.. Has anyone figured out how to work this around that (assuming my host has a cname record?)

TIA

Wayne Sagar
