Hi there,
Something messed up our secondary nameserver record. The 2 nameservers are
a.ns.host24.com and b.ns.host24.com, but for some reason or the other changes
made in the GUI to any DNS record causes "admin.host24.com" (and not
b.ns.host24.com) to be used in the pri files, as shown below:
$TTL 86400
host24.com. IN SOA a.ns.host24.com. admin.host24.com. (
2001102513
10800
3600
604800
86400
)
host24.com. IN NS a.ns.host24.com.
host24.com. IN NS b.ns.host24.com.
; End SOA Header
Well, the server is not called admin.host24.com, nor do we have any dns records
with that name. I'm now trying to add a "secondary name service for domain"
record in the DNS GUI.
However, the following error message is displayed in the GUI when trying to add
the secondary nameserver above:
"Domain b.ns.host24.com is already defined"
Removing the initial b.ns.host24.com DNS entry and the virtual site
b.ns.host24.com did not resolve this.
tia,
Johan
