James, Deana,
Believe what you are referring to are what Microsoft calls
"smart-tags" - which in laymans terms simply means if your
browser does not get the responce/page it believes it should,
you (the browser) automatically "re-directs" to a Microsoft
page giving you "options" based on its interpretation of what
the page/link was you were looking for.
Ref: http://smarttags.manilasites.com/ for more information
(not my siten and no relation to my company)...
Believe the "tag" (meta) to turn this feature off has to be
done at the site level (all pages) with the following:
<META name="MSSmartTagsPreventParsing" content="TRUE">
Hope this helps.

Hi Larry,
I do know about M$ $martTags...:) What I'm referring to is truly different.
IE has recently started using a new method of displaying server error
pages. For those who wish to create their own server error pages, it seemed
that one important thing in getting IE to display your custom one was to
make sure your files are at least 8k in file size...or at least it calls
files (images) to make the dependencies at least that big...otherwise IE
shows what M$ wants you to see.
I thought this new behavior appeared because I upgraded to IE6, but at
around the same time, others I know were also noticing the same thing, and
they were still using older browsers.
See ya,
Diana <---wishing she could find that old discussion...going to look some more
