I bet it hasn't hung - it sounds like the reverse DNS problem.
Try setting your POP3 server timeout to a couple of minutes. (in your
email client software).
If that does cure it then you need to make sure that you collect your
email from an IP address where the Qube knows or can find the
reverse DNS details. You'll either have to modify the hosts file or
else set up a proper reverse DNS server.
I think this has been covered a few times before....

Subject: [cobalt-users] Non responsive POP server
Hi I am still very new at this. I need some help. I have a Qube2
that is very lightly used. The POP server seems to stop responding to
requests if it goes more than a couple of hours with out a mail
request. It will not respond to any requests to read mail. If I send
mail to the SMTP server the POP server will wake up and work
normally but it will stop responding again after a couple of hours.
So at this point I have set up a mail client on another machine to
automatically check mail every hour and most of the time this works
but every so often it still goes to sleep. I tried a reboot but this
did not correct the problem.
So how do I find what is going wrong and fix it?
Thanks
Jim
