Hi,
I've got a RAQ2, and I've got Pop-Before-SMTP running, and everything seems
to be fine. However, I've just got a DSL line, and I'd like to open the
mail relay for that connection.
If I put the IP address of my DSL connection (151.203.232.134) in the relay
field, everything works, but the IP (assigned by PPPoE) is subject to
change, and I'd like to put in a name instead.
I went to dyndns.org and set up a host, compusmithsdsl.dnsalias.com which
gets 151.203.232.134, and set up a client so it would get updated when it
changes. I then set up a DNS CNAME entry aliasing dsl.compusmiths.com to
compusmithsdsl.dnsalias.com. I can ping the IP, the
compusmithsdsl.dnsalias.com name, and the dsl.compusmiths.com name from
another ISP, so I know everything is working.
However, I can't put _either_ of the names into the relay field and have
them work, I get the "please POP first" message. Am I doing anything
obvious wrong?
I've tried the Sun knowledgebase and archives of this forum to no avail...
Many thanks in advance!
