Re: [cobalt-users] named / resource temporarily unavailable

This was in regard to receiving "Resource temporarily unavailable" messages
logged by "named" in "/var/log/messages".

The server in question is pretty quiet (load average typically only
0.01-0.05), only hosts DNS for about 10 domains and I am sure there are far
fewer that 300 concurrent connections on the web server.

The errors appear random throughout the day and although I heard something
about the latest kernel update fixing it - it appears they have not and the
errors continue.

So - is there anyone else still seeing these errors??

Thank you.

In httpd.conf there is a setting that will limit the number of
concurrent connections. I believe the default is set at 300 in a
normal apache install - not sure what it is on a cobalt install and
too tired to fire up Putty to take a look.
But my rambling point is, perhaps you've got 300 people browsing
through sites on the server at one time and there aren't any open
connections?
Another idea - is there a specific time period when these errors take
place? Maybe swatch is running, or the logs are rotating, and the
server is bogged down.
