Re: [cobalt-users] email aliases not working HELP!

Erik -

You do not have to re-boot the server after you rebuild the virtusertable -
raq's have a very specific way that they use the virtusertable, so just to
keep things clean, make sure that you put all of your entries at the bottom
of the file - this way they wont get mixed up.

make backup copies of /etc/virtusertable and /etc/virtusertable.db - then

from /etc - do: makemap hash virtusertable.db < virtusertable

you should be all set then - good luck

Subject: [cobalt-users] email aliases not working HELP!

having a problem with email aliases on a Raq4 - they don't work at all. it
doesn't seem to matter whether or not i add the aliases when creating a new
user or adding an alias to an existing user.

looking through the archives there seems to be a past problem with
"virtusertable," which i can't find. an unsupported cobalt document said
it was at /etc/virtusertable but that was for a Raq3 and i can't find it
with find.

found "virtusertable," and the aliases are there, rebuilt the
virtusertable.db as per instructions from
(http://www.sendmail.org/virtual-hosting.html). however, it said you do not
need to restart sendmail for adding aliases, but do i need to or even reboot
the server?

any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!
