I had this propblem at first with a qube3 running as a mail server and also a web server. I only have 6 users here. I remember someone saying something about some host files thing but later we deploy a firewall in and all user will go in using the firewall. I set the qube 3 to accept relay for that particular ip address only and all email sending and receiving later on became fine. There is a setting to add ip address or domain name under mail setting one. You try and add in a few local ip address for it and test it out first.

HI all. I have a new Qube 3 here, with about 15 people using it to get
email. I'm noticing that about 1 in 10 email checks will time out. This
happens even at times when no one is in the office so I assume it's not
because of heavy network traffic (it's been going on since before NImda).
Anyone have any thoughts what it might be? I've put an extra 256mb ram in
the machine and it seems to have plenty free, all the partitions have
plenty of free space too.
