I am guessing, but you may have to leave that disk in the PC and buy two *matched* new disks, and recreate the data from the now-in-the-PC disk, but this is purely speculation.
Generally speaking Raid controllers adjust according to the smallest drive in the array I don't know if they adjust on the fly though. And I also don't know how cobalt deals with this either.
