I've had a Qube2 for about a year now and it's been performing very well,
going down only when there is a loss of power (prior to getting a UPS). It
had OS Update 2.0 on it, IIRC.
About a week ago I updated the stock software with all the current patches
in response to the telnetd hole. Since then the machine has been hanging
hard -- requiring a power cycle -- every few days.
There is no indication in any log of anything unusual -- the logs just stop
until the reboot. One oddity is that I received one e-mail notice that
cron had stopped, but that has not repeated itself.
The machine is behind a hardware firewall that passes:
smtp
http
ssh
telnet
pop
imap4
Has anyone else seen this behavior? I'd very much like to fix it.
I've been seeing frequent nimba hits, but nothing the box shouldn't just
shrug off.
