I gotta love it.
Another email, a reply to urgent, it finally shows up in the list after
waiting a full week through the queue there at cobalt.
My error was in replying to the message with the wrong return address. I
did recieve a notice that my reply to a message was on hold, but other
replies had made it to the list. I think that many of us have made this
error because we are human and we handle mail from different computers or
applications as we do our daily tasks. I did get a message, but I find it
interesting that it took a full week to be redirected to/by our list
manager. I think this suggests the list is a bottom priority to Sun, when,
IMHO, we should be higher. I know things are tight, but by ignoring the
list (filtering is good, batching the queue once a week is bad.) Is SUN
hoping some additional revenue will flow thier way? Please sort out your
servers and "help mail" policies so we can really help each other on this
list.
Below is my header showing I replied in a timely fashion to the email, here
are the highlights for the purposes of finishing the rant.
Initial reply sent as soon as I could at
Fri, 14 Sep 2001 07:09:43 -0700 (PDT)
recieved by sun 8 hours before it was sent
Thu, 13 Sep 2001 23:09:07 -0700
exits the Sun server 7 days later
Thu, 20 Sep 2001 17:47:25 -0700
arrives at my server 8 hours later.
Fri, 21 Sep 2001 01:58:20 -0700
Also. Can we fix this 8 hour lag thingy?
It drives me nuts.
Thanks
Bill
