It would be as secure as the box is itself.  If the box would ever be compromised, then so is the network.

I've got a RaQ XTR and just like the RaQ 3 and 4 it has 2 ethernet
connection.

How secure it is to have a connection on the private network and the other
on the internet?

Is it possible to get in through the real IP and hack into the private
network through the RaQ XTR?

What is the general advice?
