RE: [cobalt-users] APOP nightmare

The client software is okay, in fact i've gone as far as to get down to the
nitty gritty and done a:

telnet mail.site.com 110

and then at the prompt entered "user username"

and thats when I get the error.  Also it does not happen for any other user
and I'm aware that I can use another name and alias but I'd prefer to fix
the problem than avoid it,

does anyone know the intracasies of APOP so that I can alter the file just
so it does not think that this user uses APOP?

No other user on the site has this problem and I've delete the user the
entire site and it still occurs.

Recheck the users client software... and make sure they dont have this set.
I have seen this problem before.
Can you duplicate this problem yourself or are you just receiving this
problem info. from the end user.

Also, does anyother user on the site have the same problem or is it just
that user.
If not, give the user a different logon name, and create an alias from them
of the orig. username and see if that clears it up. At any rate this gives
you a chance to narrow the problem down and report back.
