Re: [cobalt-users] [RAQ2] WS_FTP SSL Connection Setup

SSL != SSH

I have spoken with IPSwitch about this issue, and I think they are now
understanding that not everyone wants to set up a SSL server to run
their WS_FTP securely. According to the person I talked with, the next
WS_FTP Pro version -should- contain SFTP capabilities.

I often wondered about just -how- secure it was to use a SSL channel for
the control port, but then send unencrypted data! I am not sure if
WS_FTP also used a SSL channel for the data (I might have read that they
did), but I know other products do not.

In other words, no, WS_FTP v6.70 w/ SSL support will not work with SSH.
