Ok what had happened, I accidentally type rm -R /usr/local and hit CTRL Z in
the midst of it, it left one directory DOWNLOAD, I had someone email me
there tar'd directory of the /USR/LOCAL and I installed that, then I removed
OS4 and then reinstalled OS3 and all the OS3 patches then Reinstalled OS4,
and acouple of it's patches that went through. After that I rebooted the
server praying that it would come up and it did.
Everything now seems to work like a charm, but I was curious if I could be
running into anything severe in the future, are there some tests I can look
at or a LOG file to see if everything booted up ok.
I was also wondering what is the best way to back up the Raq, (the whole
hard drive) via the internet or do I need a machine connected to it locally.
So there are some of the questions I had and some of the issues I was
wondering about.
I would like to thank all the users that helped me. Kudos' to you all.
Sincerely Kacey A. Murphy
