Hey All,
I am just wondering if someone could give me a quick explanation of the
steps to take to get 2 RaQ4s to act as a primary and secondary DNS servers.
Lets use for the explanation:
ns1.domain.com >> 192.0.0.2 and ns2.domain.com >> 192.0.0.3
What are all the settings I have to put in? Please fill in the gaps :-D
Server 1 ( ns1.domain.com >> 192.0.0.2 )
Control Panel > Network:
Host Name: ns1
Domain Name: domain.com
Primary DNS Server Address: 192.0.0.2
Secondary DNS Server Address: 192.0.0.3
Default Gateway: 192.0.0.1
Control Panel > DNS Sever:
DNS Server Settings
Forwarding Server: ???????????
Backup Forwarding Server: ?????????
Zone Transfer Access: ?????????
Zone Format: RFC2317
What else do I have to set up in the way of records or Secondary Servers
here?
Server 2 ( ns2.domain.com >> 192.0.0.3 )
Control Panel > Network:
Host Name: ns2
Domain Name: domain.com
Primary DNS Server Address: 192.0.0.2
Secondary DNS Server Address: 192.0.0.3
Default Gateway: 192.0.0.1
Control Panel > DNS Sever:
DNS Server Settings
Forwarding Server: ???????????
Backup Forwarding Server: ?????????
Zone Transfer Access: ?????????
Zone Format: RFC2317
What else do I have to set up in the way of records or Secondary Servers
here?
