the ram we bought was from crucial, who claim it is the right stuff.  see:

the manual states that the qube can handle up to 512MB (print page 205, pdf
page 233), and since ram is so cheap right now i though i might as well just
get the full 256 module.  why only a max of 128?

the main reason i went ahead with the big module is that our qube2, which
shipped with 16 mb, used to complain until i got it a second 128 mb module. 
this time i thought i would head off the low memory problems before they
started.  that's what i get for thinking i suppose.

like i said the memory was direct from crucial using their configurator.

a last resort.  i'm still hoping for a less drastic solution.
