I've installed Interchange 4.6.5 on several RaQ3's with no problems.
Before extracting or installing Interchange, be sure that you have all of
the recommended Perl modules installed on your system. The easiest way
I've seen this done is to run the command:
perl -MCPAN -e 'install Bundle::Interchange'
This will take about 6-10 minutes depending on the speed of your server
and its connection. _WARNING_ make sure you stop the configuration
(CTRL-C) when it begins the Perl Upgrade process. It will be the last
thing it does after installing all the needed Interchange modules. I made
the mistake of allowing it to upgrade perl one time and bad, bad things
happened.
Now that you've got the bundle installed you can install Interchange. It
doesn't matter where you extracted the files to, just fun ./configure and
be sure to install Interchange to /usr/local/interchange. Installation is
very straightforward using the configure script. Now that it's installed,
you can run /usr/local/interchange/bin/makecat each time you want to
create a new catalog. I like to keep my catalog directories in the root
of each website, alongside their users, logs and web directories. Hope
this helps.
