RE: [cobalt-users] Name server registration

Hello,

1.As Dan wrote it isn't possible to have 2 ns with the same IP.

2.You can't register your ns with NSI if you didn't register the domain with
them. It isn't very clear. It took me 3 weeks communicating with NSI before
anyone could tell that. If you send an e-mail to your tld-register, he'll
finish the registration of the ns. (this is for .net, .org and .com and
.be). For all other tld you have to contact you registar. It should be done
in 24-36 hours. You can check it at internic: whois.internic.net or
www.internic.net/whois.html

Dan,

Thanks for the response. As you can figure out, I am a Raq newbie. The
instructions from my hosting company for setting up the DNS made it seem
like the Raq was doing some behind the scenes things regarding the name
servers. The instructions said to set it up using only one of the IP
addresses and the primary and secondary name servers would be created. So,
when I registered them, I used only one IP address. I am really confused and
have had a server now for almost a week that I cannot use because I can't
seem to get the name servers either created or registered or both. I have
searched for my name servers, but they don't show up. I am trying to figure
out how to get them registered. I have an email into tech support, but they
tend to take their time.

Thanks,
Virgil
