Hello,

    The / is the root directory.  In unix, the / is basically like a C: on
your windows box.  All files and folders are stored underneather the / (or
some call, root directory).  It's basically saying that your harddrive is
getting very full, you either need to add more space, or delete some
non-essential items.  However, be careful what you delete under the /
directory, as it could stop your system from operating if you delete the
wrong things.  I would personally wait until your admin comes back before
you do anything drastic.
