Your message brings to mind a debate that went on long ago in a galaxy far
away.
http://ftp.cobaltnet.com/lists/cobalt-users/msg06320.html
is a thread that starts off offering a 200 site limit problem. I read the
thread, and still have confusion. If a member of the sun team will offer a
claification, I would appreciate it.

I am using a raq1 with raq 2 software. I like the easy use and apparent
stability as a rapid deployment tool, and plan on getting the next generation
device for deployment in a few months if all holds up well, replacing the
hodge podge of servers I now have. I will be looking closely at the product
at LWE in a few days, but experience says the reps at the show are not much
help with the nitty gritty details.
I build new sites and offer them out until there is traffic, then I move them
to a new server. I don't think it is right to peg a server beyond 30% of
processor capacity, and watch those stats carefully.

I want to place and park a huge number of sites on a cobalt raq 1/2 as I
build them up without worrying about the number of sites on the raq as long
as they create no traffic. I plan to build them according to this format:
anyhost.anydoman.com.

Would a member of staff please answer (as an authoritative member of staff)
the following questions?

1. How many sites (total sites) will the various raq models support
assuming there is no traffic load on the sites.
2. Is there a difference in number of sites allowed based on the tree of
that site? ie:
         anydoman.com/~anyusers/sites
         anyhost.anydoman.com/sites
         anyhost.anydoman.com/~anyusers/sites
3. What is the recommended load for reliable service on any of the
various Cobalt Servers?

If I am not clear enough, sorry. Please answer as best as you can.
