SMTP is different to POP,Telnet and FTP services in that it doesnt
authenticate any user when an SMTP connection is made. Any mail server out
there on the internet has to deliver mail to you, so they have to be able
to freely connect to send mail. The cobalt server accepts mail if the
recipient is a user account or alias, or if the sending host (your client
PC's) is trusted to relay outgoing e-mails to some other domain. This is
to prevent people from sending spam mail from your server.
If you enter server management, control panel and then select Services
along the top of the page. Look for the e-mail server parameters link.
There you will find a field labelled Relay e-mail from these
hosts/domains. You will have to find your ISP's network IP's and if there
are several enter each one.
This should sort the problem
