RE: [cobalt-users] Memory pricing

As far as cheap ram goes, just learn the difference and read the small
print. Some RAM won't work with certain styles of motherboards (ATX,
Baby-AT, and so on) so just make sure you know what you are getting into.

I've used cheap ram in the past and have had success; there has only been 1
time that I had 1 bad ram card from a cheap provider. Also, keep in mind
that sometimes the cheap ram does have a cheap warranty. If you know what
you are doing and know how to fix it if RAM goes bad, you're safe.
Otherwise, find someone who can do it or bite the bullet.

On our end, at least, we do our own RAM upgrades and we do use mostly
name-brand RAM for warranty reasons. However, if you check my PC at home
you'll find cheap, WORKING, RAM that I would say outperformed the "name
brand" RAM I had before.

All it boils down to is - do your homework.
