His mailspool file is probably growing because he has his MUA (e-mail
client) set to "Leave messages on server". Look, as root, at
/var/spool/mail/USERNAME and follow the symlink to the actual file.
You can get a list of all files on the system owned by the user with "find
/ -user USERNAME".
