Re: [cobalt-users] Stopping tail -f

If you try to telnet, and it rejects the connection, sometimes you'll find
yourself at a telnet prompt. Just type 'quit'. If you telnet to another
server from your already active telnet connection, hit CTRL+] and you will
get the telnet> prompt.. type 'quit'.

If you have logged in as admin, you can use either logout or exit to
officially close the connection. Most good telnet programs will send it for
you when you close it, you just don't see it, but it doesn't logout of the
user.

If you've logged in, then you su - to root, logout will work as well as
exit. If you su to another user, you have to use 'exit'.

I think it's that easy.. :]

| I'll bite. How do you quit a telnet session if the machine you're
| telnetting to doesn't play ball? I've got some hardware here that
| won't let you log out; Ctrl-Z or Ctrl-C don't work either. I have
| to close my Ewan window.
|
| Talking of which, I haven't plugged it (Ewan) for a bit. Get it from:
| I have no connection with it apart from being a very satisfied user.
