Thanks all for the info, and help... the reality is that it was simply
taking over a minute for the telnet window to give me a prompt, which I
found by reading the "telnet delays" thread that just popped up a while
ago...

I learned a little tho, and now that I can actually get in, it's time to
start reading up on unix a little before I go exploring...

Have you tried telnetting to a different port (Try port 21 if you have ftp
running)
May give some indication of what's broken

BTW why can't I telnet to post 80 on an raq4.
