Hi Eric,

I can't say for sure as none of our clients use them but,
the odds are, that netzero is blocking port 25 in order to force
their clients to send via their servers. This is a very common
anti-spam technique.

telnet to port 25... I can't figure out how to do that with
the telnet client that comes with Windows though so someone else
will have to answer this part of your question. Then again, you
could just send an email to your domain on your cobalt in order to
see if SMTP is working. If you can POP it off after sending it, or
if it is forwarded to what ever address you set as the forwarding
address in the GUI then SMTP is probably working.
