I have installed ipchains from rpm, but there have been posts on installing
ipchains from source on this list. Check the archives for that.
The rpm I installed was for RedHat 6.2. You find it here directly:
ftp://rpmfind.net/linux/redhat/6.2/en/os/i386/RedHat/RPMS/ipchains-1.3.9-5.i
386.rpm
No problems whatsoever, everything went smooth as silk.
Good luck and definitely RTFM before you do anything... Nico
P.S. Tip 1: install openssh from openssh.org before anything else if you
haven't done so already. Make the first rule in your ipchains script to open
up port 22 from anywhere. Could save your butt if you mess up.
