Like you said this is definitely a problem with the proxy server and
exchange server.
There are a few settings in exchange/pop connector that must be set
correctly or IT WILL NOT WORK. (Imagine that)
As Far as ETRN its more work on your end that changes how you have handled
100% of the rest of your hosting customers. No explanation needed as you do
things one way that is simple and works for you. Anything else complicates
your life which drives your prices up and causes consulting and programming
fees to be charged.
I would be happy to help you briefly off list with some settings advice for
exchange.
As far as your customer goes, its been my vast experience that if you don't
rein in their attitude and get their frustrations pointed in the right
direction, you will get screwed. Warn them, advise them again that it's
their network guys problem, then suspend them. Now. A non-paying customer is
worthless to you.
