How about "pine" which is on the server by default or a webmail program like
squirrelmail?

Can you clarify what you want? mreport (find it on freshmeat) is a program
that generates stats based on maillog which I've been using for a few years.
I don't know if there's anything open source, but it would be fairly easy to
build a program to slurp through maillog and store it in a database whose
data could then be manipulated using a scripting language to build whatever
user-friendly output (and reports) you want. I could build one, but don't
have a need so unfortunately couldn't do for free.
