[cobalt-users] [RaQ2] Sun Cobalt RaQ2 OS Update 4.0

Hi,

We recently applied the Sun Cobalt RaQ2 OS Update 4.0 patch for our 
RaQ2 and everything went well, except for one thing- the POP before 
SMTP system stopped working.  Specifically, it affected 
POP-Authenticated SMTP Relaying Release 1.2 which we have had 
installed for quite some time.

However, after some poking around, we found a solution:

You will need to edit the file /usr/local/sbin/poprelayd

Find the following line:

if ($s =~ /POP login for \"[\-\_\w]+\" at \(.+\) ([0-9\.]+)/)  {

and change it to:

if ($s =~ /POP login by user \"[\-\_\w]+\" at \(.+\) ([0-9\.]+)/)  {

It seems the OS Update has upgraded the version of QPopper on the 
RaQ2, which in turn is using different logging messages.  poprelayd 
was therefore failing to pick up these new messages and not allowing 
anyone to SMTP mail.
