Again the point here is that people _do_ find the appropriate forum,
subscribe to it... (etc as above). That process will help ensure that the
information that appears in this forum is of value (because it will be the
information that people came here to receive and impart).
A lot of people here get after others for being so direct in the way they
respond to off-topic postings. Whether or not you like the method, the
intention is correct. There are lots of other places you post off-topic
(because it's what the participants signed on for).
