The server licence is now around US$600 and each domain licence is also
another US$600... They do have partner/reseller programs but either way it
looks like I'll be outlaying over US$3000 for what I need. I'm not
particularly keen to run Miva on my current server, as alluded to it can put
quite a strain on resources. I found host2own.com yesterday who will lease
you a Miva Raq for US$300/month (includes server licence and ten domain
licences) - that sounds like quite a good deal to me when you consider the
list price of the machine, and if you lease it for a full 24 months you can
keep it. Not that it will be much use in 24 months' time, but hey I still
like to play around with 486s and got very excited last night when I
acquired a P166 : )
So I've managed to find one or two places to lease these from, which suits
me fine, but it's a bit hard to know what to expect from them. Naturally
I've been scouring all the relevant forums and I will ask them all the
relevant questions, but you can't go past a good recommendation.
