A follow-up on the instructions that Davis gave me:
In the config file, the language path for a RaQ4 is
LANGFILE /var/lib/analog/lang/us.lng
not
LANGFILE /usr/lib/analog/lang/us.lng
The images to copy over to the client's img directory are at:
/home/httpd/html/analogimages
On a nicely trafficked site, it took 5 minutes and 13 seconds to run
the first time. No idea - yet - if it will take that long on following
reports. And it gave a *really* detailed report; talk about search
terms and referring URLs? It blows Webalizer away; doesn't truncate
the referring URL or search term at all so you can really see how the
surfer got there. (Which can sometimes be scary - ever spent a few
moments looking at the search terms people use? Yuk! *L*)
This only took a few minutes to do and works like a charm. Just for
reference to avoid further questions, I chowned -R the logreports
directory to the site admin, and chmod'ed analog.cfg to 755. No idea
if I *had* to do that, but it's usually done with config scripts so I
did. Anyhow, it works.
And to test it, the line that Davis gave:
/usr/local/sbin/analog
+g/home/sites/site17/web/logreports/analog/analog.cfg
can be run from the command line. Just don't get nervous when it takes
a while and seems like your session has frozen. You gotta be
reasonable and give it a few minutes to get through the logs.
Thanks again, Davis!
