RE: [cobalt-users] [RaQ4]Moving Complete Server Content

I am fairly new to Cobalt boxes myself, so this may be of absolutely no use
at all, but here goes anyway.

Do you mean from one Cobalt server to another Cobalt server? if so could you
use the system backup/restore feature for this?

I do a complete raq backup daily along with site backups, if I get a
hardware failure on my raq I was intending to fit a spare and restore the
full system backup to this new server.

Would this not restore all the site and user data on this new raq back as it
was on the old including any changes I made to the config files etc?

If it does could you backup one server and restore to another ?

Subject: [cobalt-users] [RaQ4]Moving Complete Server Content

Dear list,

I was wondering, are there any scripts out there that will guide me through
moving the entire content of a server (inc. passw files etc.) from one
server to another? Or are there any guidelines which could help me doing
this? I'm fairly new to the cobalt system, so maybe some of you wise (wo)men
can help out?

Thanks a bunch!

Regards,

Thijs Boonstra
