Since we are all reminiscing,
I had two great oldies, first was just a board made by SYM with a hex pad
and 8k of memory.
We added a Heathkit dumb terminal and keyboard and revved up the memory to
an unbelievable 36k. This combined with the dual tape (cassette) drives one
for saving and one for loading was quit the powerhouse. I wrote my senior
paper on the first version of Wordstar you know the one with all the dot
commands and ^ characters. The other was a Sinclair 1000 with the
additional 16k memory pack and I was programming in a Forth which no longer
exist. We asked students in the high school programming class to tell of
the first memory they had of using a computer and the majority of them can
not remember not having a computer. Scary eh.
