Paul,
I've seen this covered but can't remember exactly what to search for.
I do remember that you can accomplish this by chopping the log up into
smaller parts, and then running the rotate script on them one by one.
That helps you single out where the error is, and you might even be
able to narrow it down so much that you can take out the particular
lines that are causing the problem.

Wish I could remember what to look for - splitting logs, maybe?
