I would almost stake a month's salary on this being a patch problem.  The
reason I am so confident is that I have just had exactly the same problem on
a RAQ 4.  By default, my RAQ 4 came with no patches on.  You can get them
all from the Cobalt site. There are 28, I think, to download ranging from a
few k up to about 24 MB.  You have to put them on in order from the bottom
of the list and the one that will solve your problem is about half way up.
