International domain names are resolved the same way as any other, there
are just different servers for different tld's....
Neither of the above seem to be anything you can do anything about,
pemstar.com.mx is in fact screwed up, it has only one listed nameserver,
and as of when i'm posting this, it's quite dead....
[in anycase, just looking at the error you got tells me they barfed their
zone file]
(smtp.)libero.it seems to exist, it also seems to be behing a icmp filter
, which is why you can't traceroute all the way to it...(it does exist
tho)
Keep in mind when using traceroute etc, that the name you see on the
envelope isn't necessarily the one the mail is going to, for example
libero.it has a MX record saying that mail should go to smtp-in.libero.it,
which is in fact another machine/ip address, you need to look at this part
too ;)
It is in fact, quite possible that the domain name of an email address has
no actual IP address, intended that the mail should go elsewhere, and
www.domain go elsewhere still...
