Yes.  Here's an archived message I wrote on the subject in 1999.  The
instructions still apply, though I notice now that step #7 was slightly
incorrect.  The part reading "mypassword" should read
PASSWORD("mypassword").

If you need more assistance write back on or off list.  Also, if you go to
www.mysql.com and type "reset password" in the search box it will list the
part of the manual with instructions.
