Subject: [cobalt-users] Problems sending mail on Raq3
I have a client who is setting up her email account on Outlook Express. I
set up her DNS correctly, I installed POP b4 STMP, however once she has
everything setup she is unable to send mail only receive. I set up her
account on my computer and was able to send and receive with no problems.
Normally, I would think it was something she was doing wrong, but this has
happened in the past and either just resolved itself or the client was only
setting up an account to receive. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix
this?
2 Things may help. check the outbound smtp for a typo. I know it sounds
basic.
1. If she checks mail just before pressing send this will "re-establish" a
connection
caused by typing a long message and the "connection dropping" because of pop
before relay timeout.
2. Under tools> accounts> mail> youraccountproperties> server> check the
check box "my server requires authentication" and fill in the settings.
Good luck,
david
