Oups sorry.
I meant to say that it doesn't occur on a regular basis. If it would have
been on a regular basis the problem would have been somewhere in a cron script.
But unfortunately this is not the case. :-(

It tends to alter the addhandler and rewriteengine  directives in the 
<virtualhost> block. I haven't been able to determine whether it only 
occurs to one virtualhost and therefore is only provoqued by a bizarre
 domain name or whether it is a more general problem.

I'm a busy testing this solution, but although this will not take down my main apache
if an error occurs within the include file, it will still take
down all my virtualhosts. Unless I would 
make a quick hack on the Addsite cgi to make sure that every virtualhost gets
its own included file. Hum might be actually be a safe solution.

The permissions are the standard ones provided by the apache group:
